For specific, smaller business clients or quick portraiture needs, hourly rates may be utilized. These rates generally fall within the industry benchmark of $250 to $500 per hour and typically include a small number of licensed images (5-15) intended only for social media and web use. All quoted fees cover the pre- and post-work involved, the professional time, high-end equipment usage, and critical business overhead, including software licensing costs, professional memberships, accounting fees, and marketing investments.

It is essential for clients to understand that usage rights are legally distinct from the delivery file format. By default, Bluebox Digital Media retains the copyright to all images captured, granting the client a specific license to use those images.  

The standard commercial license grants the client broad, but non-exclusive, rights for specific uses (such as internal marketing, corporate website display, and defined advertising campaigns) for an agreed-upon duration.

Exclusive usage rights grant the client the sole right to use the images, preventing BlueboxDM from licensing those images to any other party. This often means worldwide, perpetual, and exclusive use. When a client demands exclusive rights, they effectively remove the firm's ability to generate residual revenue from licensing the images over time, creating a measurable opportunity cost.

Consequently, exclusive usage rights require a substantial increase in the project fee. This higher price compensates the firm for the permanent loss of future commercial licensing income, making it a premium service tier. Any demand for exclusive rights must be clearly detailed in the contract to define the scope and consequences of any potential violations.

The final image format is determined by the client’s intended application and is specified within the contract.  

• For general online sharing, email, and large batches of images, high-quality JPEG or PNG files are the standard delivery formats.  

• For professional use, high-resolution printing, or extensive professional manipulation, TIFF files are provided, as they offer maximum image quality and editing flexibility.  

Bluebox Digital Media generally retains the original, unedited RAW files, as these represent the firm’s proprietary creative assets and unfinished work. RAW files are typically not released unless specifically requested, negotiated, and covered by an expanded contractual agreement and associated fee.
